As I expected, I learned there was a lot to go into being a technology leader. I think that it was a good thing that we took this class with our Data Analysis. I think I would have been lost without the other class there to really show me how important it is to look at all of the work it goes into creating these visions and plans for the school. What I learned is that our district is really still in the baby steps of technology. I also liked that it reawakened my grant writing which I learned about in my Masters program at Georgia State but I never really had a chance to work on. I think I have a bit of practice from Donors Choose (a lot of my stuff was funded last year) so I liked that I could really sharpen those tools for when it comes to grant writing for the school.
I think that this class was great to help me learn how to be an effective leader in my writing. The tasks that we had to complete are really great guidance with how to present to administration and the school about incorporating technology and how I am an effective passionate person to help the school maximize using the technology in their school and will advocate for more. I find myself going more to my Feedly now to stay current with the best practices in technology and the ever changing methods and applications that are currently being used. I have recommended Feedly to a friend of mine in California who is a technology teacher who didn't know that site existed and now she is using it like crazy and loves the site. I will continue to use Feedly to help find research based articles to continue to support the various educational technology tools to explore. My new school that I am changing to has some technology but could always use more. Overall, this was a great class to have near the end of the journey as we are about to embark on our journey to become coaches, it was a very eye opening class on all that goes into being a technology leader in your school.
